I had a blast with Brandon and Rheanna on their engagement session last week. We started out in Old Town Torrance for a rustic urban feel and finished off in Palos Verdes with some nice sunset light...and Peacocks. Check out the highlights of these two lovebirds.
Last weekend I ventured down to La Jolla to photograph Joe and Michelle’s engagement session. We started out on this gorgeous bluff over looking the ocean and then down to the rocky beach for sunset. They were so willing to do what ever it took to get the shot - even it meant precariously standing on the edge of a cliff because it would be epic. Check out these highlights!
I had a blast shooting Jesse and Kim’s engagement session in Encinitas last week, especially with their four dogs that I immediately fell in love with. I’m a sucker for dog kisses… But I digress. Kim and Jesse are a great couple and so easy to work with. It’s easy to see, just check out these highlights! I can’t wait for the wedding!
It was an absolute honor to be able to work with the HBFD and provide photography coverage for the annual awards ceremony last week. This year’s reception and ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Here’s some highlights. Enjoy.
Recently Emily, Austin and I went down to the Dana Point harbor for their engagement photos. They have a passionate connection to the ocean. Emily even volunteers at the Ocean Institute where they will have their wedding next year. And of course it will be ocean themed. I'm pretty dang excited about their upcoming wedding which will have open exhibits at the Ocean Institute including touch tanks and the like.
But this day was a perfect day for a walk on the beach. Check out these highlights!
I was so excited that Mel and Ryan asked me to travel to Washington State for their wedding! A wedding in the forest is right up my alley! But what I loved the most was Ryan and Mel. Ryan and I go way back but it was the first time I was able to meet Mel and it was easy to see why they made just a great couple. These two are everything I could ask for in a couple. They are so down to Earth, loving, playful and fun beyond belief! But really, it was all about family and friends getting together and having a good time.
Maryann and Brad's Huntington Beach engagement photos.
I recently met Brad and Maryann at the Huntington Beach Pier for their engagement photos. Maryann is an old neighbor of mine and I was definitely excited to get the phone call with the big news of her wedding next year! When I met Brad for the first time I could see why these two fell in love. What a great couple! I think these photos capture their care free personalities perfectly. Enjoy these the highlights!
OK, maybe it was because my two year old niece was playing, but I shot a Harbor Youth Soccer League's (HYSL) game in San Pedro recently. Oh, and did I mention it's an under four team?! This is the Challenger U-4 team. Enjoy these highlights.
The whole time I was processing these photos I was thinking "caption this". Have fun...
I recently shot these two love bird's engagement session in Laguna Hills. Dominic and Danielle will be tying the knot next year. I can't wait! In the meantime check out some of their engagement photos.
Allie and James's engagement session was awesome. We ventured down to Little Corona Beach in Newport Beach for a gorgeous sunset shoot. They're so damn photogenic. I can't wait for these two med students to tie the knot next year!
I'm finally catching up with my blog... Here's Shaun and Samantha's engagement photos that I shot for Prince Weddings. They took me to a cool urban spot near downtown Los Angeles - Angel City Brewery. Cool couple, cool place. Check it out.
It is my absolute honor to provide photography every year for the Memorial Day ceremony at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, Ca. This year was the 80th year of the ceremony. It was a well represented ceremony that included members of the Fullerton Fire Department, the Fullerton Police Department and Mayor Doug Chaffee among many others. All of the Armed Forces were well represented as well the community at large. This Memorial Day ceremony is largely recognized across the country as being one of the best.
Every year I get the privilege of providing photography for The Teen Project Fashion Show, put on by The Teen Project. It's an amazing non-profit organization that supports youth that age out of foster care by providing shelter and rehab among many other things.
I traveled to New York City for the first time this October. See my previous posts New York City - 13 Musings From a First Timer and 9/11 Memorial. I'd like to share some of my favorite photos from my stay in Manhattan. Among other things, I even tried my hand at street photography for the first time. Check out the photos!
The 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan, New York is a heavily visited attraction, yet it is a significantly solemn one. The memorial now sits on ground zero (where the Twin Towers used to stand - two reflecting pools sit in the footprints of where they used to be).

I recently visited New York City for the first time and yes it was a bit of a culture shock for me - not in a negative way, quite the contrary, just different. It's different for the California native in me. It's remarkable what 3,000 miles can do.
I recently shot Tim and Sara's Lake Las Vegas wedding. The four hour drive to Las Vegas from Orange County is worth it when you have a fun couple like this. Tim and Sara got married at the beautiful Lake Las Vegas Hilton in Henderson, Nevada.
I love shooting engagement proposals. It's obviously a surprise, it presents certain challenges and it's always a joyous event. I was excited when Matt asked me to photograph his engagement proposal to Danielle. It was a gorgeous afternoon in Laguna Beach, Ca. Breezy, about 70 degrees and clear. Matt led Danielle down to the beach with champagne in tow to "watch the sunset".
Well, I had a first recently...a surprise wedding. When Monique called me for the first time inquiring about wedding photography she told me it was a surprise wedding. I had to have her explain that one to me... The plan, she explained, was to invite their closest family and friends to the Newport Dunes for an engagement party. The twist was that in the middle of the party they would surprise the would-be wedding party with the news that they would be getting married that night. What a unique idea - I was hooked from the beginning. Here's some highlights...
I loved this Redondo Beach Wedding. Jason and Heather are married and what a wedding it was! I had the privilege of photographing Heather's sister's wedding (you can find that here: http://www.forgetmeknottphotography.com/alex-laurel-temecula-wedding/) and now it was Heather's big day at thePortofino Hotel and Marinain Redondo Beach, California. It was a perfect day weather wise for a wedding ceremony right on the water's edge. They're such a great couple and a great family. But alas, the last daughter has been married so, unfortunately for me, no more wedding photography for them.
